Infineon Technologies Bipolar GmbH further expands its portfolio of thyristor/diode modules.The new Prime Block 50mm modules use soldering technology and the 60mm modules use crimping technology.They provide optimum performance when the current requirement exceeds 600A for a 60mm footprint or 330A for a 50mm footprint.This avoids paralleling of modules(when paralleling is not feasible).Prime Block modules are ideal for rectifiers and bypasses in industrial AC and DC drives and UPSs.
　　The new modules have been optimized for better thermal resistance and higher operating temperatures,pushing their performance beyond existing limits.As a result,Prime Block modules achieve maximum power density relative to board space,while maintaining superior reliability for excellent lifetime.Crimp modules typically achieve best-in-class blocking stability,while solder modules receive full X-ray monitoring after the soldering process.

　　The 60mm modules are available in two models with thyristor/thyristor or thyristor/diode topologies,blocking voltages of 1600V or 2200V,and current ratings in the range of 700A to 820A.Three models of 50mm modules are available in thyristor/thyristor,thyristor/diode and diode/diode topologies.The blocking voltages are 1600V,1800V and 2200V,and the rated current is up to 390A.
